it rained today. this might seem rather mundane in places like the northwest or east coast but here on the west coast it's a rarity in the summer. it was actually a nice little reminder of home so i stepped out into the rather light rain a bit and enjoyed the smell and cool wind that is unique to these storms. you really don't notice the little beauties of life until you're without them for a while. i'm actually working on that - appreciating things that is. there really are a thousand beautiful things about each day that remind us of God and help heal the wounds we all bear.

the name

well folks, borrowing from my days in the Windy City and a little Wild West folklore i came up with this my humble name on the web. i don't doubt many of you know my real name but i wanted a digital alias so i could write a little more freely here. more to come later...
